Default Wireless data card

Just to let you know that I have 2 wireless data card from alltel. One of them is my Dad's who took it to Florida from middle of Dec to last week of march here. Just got a phone call stating that They was going to shut off both cards because 1 was hitting a competitors tower in Fla ( even if it was a alltel area over a year ago) and it was roaming.

Best thing is we asked about it last July about him going to Fla with it and the store said NP. Their customer service pretty much said tough luck about it. So watch out if you do alot of traveling with it or they will cancel it.

Sorry for the rant, Just had to vent alittle

Joel

That sucks... the company I work for offers wireless data cards with nationwide service, you would have thought a company like Alltel would offer this as well...

Ohhh It is Ok as long as u are hitting a alltel tower. Guess my definition of nationwide and unlimited is different then theirs.

You can use it nationwide, but it depends on how long and how much data you are using while roaming. If you were roaming for almost 4 months straight I know of a handful of companies that would disconnect it, including at&t and verizon. To them if you roam that long then they figure you must have moved out of their service area. Not saying it's right or wrong, but they all do it and it's important to understand their definition of roaming and unlimited data.
