Got my last bill as a Alltel customer this week. I'm very sadden to be a verizon customer now. I took a ride past our Alltel store today, it closed

Luckily my contract is up in April. I'm going to have to start doing some looking around

Is this page going to disappear also???

this page will stay around for a little while because not all alltel customer have been purchased by verizon. I definitely feel your pain, i have been verizon since july and have not had a single month without a billing issue since. the bad thing is, there arent enough major carriers to choose from. Sprint, for me has bad indoor service, Att has too many dropped calls, and t-mobile, i just dont trust their service.

I too am in your sinking boat. Alltel had the most amazing coverage of the ENTIRE country. I travel to all 48 lower states and I have experienced more dropped calls in a single week as I did with alltel in a year. Alltel is sorely missed.

"Alltel had the most amazing coverage of the ENTIRE country."

So true!

For last few months I've had more dropped calls and less broadband reception when roaming, than in several years combined I've been with Alltel.

Funny since Alltel roamed off nearly all major carriers in basically every major city. Losing Sprint as a roaming partner killed service for many and is the reason most of you are having issues.

That's true. With alltel it was like one giant network and it was fantastic.

Well least here in michigan i had great coverage with Alltel. I just hoping some what i'm hearing about billing issues and coverage isn't so true. I would think things would be better, but we'll see

I'm in Phoenix. Alltel's single "largest" owned Metro location. Hundreds of towers. My data coverage has gone to @#%# since the buyout (LOTS of 1x to 1XEV transitions and it was pretty stable previously)

Voice, though, is on par if not better. I'm not worried. Most likely its just network changes in prep. It's also a HUGE Verizon area so it should balance shortly (especially after I change to a Verizon Tour w/ my Alltel plan... w00t!)

I kinda feel bad for the Alltel customers. VZW has handled this whole transition horribly

When we moved to MI I had to switch from Verizon to Alltel. I love Verizon and will be happy to go back to them. I was roaming off Canadian towers even though I am in MI and they took care of all charges. Plus they do a military discount off all plans not just a select few. I hope when Verizon takes over here i get my discount back or I would have sucked up the mothly calls until they did! Alltel isn't military friendly even though they have the military contract here. Kinda sad if you ask me!
