Well, just as I feared....I got 1 of the 2 phones That were to deliver today.

It is a Sonim Armor ?????

Called 611 the lady was very nice, all I have to do is return these phones, and I can order the correct phones after these are RA'ed.

I asked if the 9930 was in stock, she said no they are going out as fast as we get them.?!?!

I asked if I could order them so I could get them before they are sold out again.
She said no I can't order something I don't have?!?!?!?

So, I don't know if they ever had 9930's or if these nice ladies even know what a cell phone is.

So if the other wrong phone I ordered ever gets here I will try to play the RMA game and order again?

The nice Alltel lady said I should check my local store cause they have them. HA!

Hey momofteme, what is your location? I was in an Alltel store here in Southern Illinois yesterday and they knew nothing about the 9930. They did say they knew they had some new Blackberrys coming out in a month or two. They said they did not know which ones until they open the box to see what is inside.

yep southern Il for me too, old first cellular customer.

I have been calling once a month just to check on the status, I got someone a little higher up to tell me the 9930 is coming around now, but who knows.

I do not like my local store, they have been less than honest with me many times, so I tend to do most stuff on the phone or net.

If i was able to port my number I would be gone, but That isn't going to happen apparently, EVER!

momofteme, I live in Herrin. I visit both the Carbondale and Marion stores. I think I am going to visit a Verizon store to look at the 9930. Alltel sells the 9850 now. I am looking at these two phones. I have an 8530 now, plus a 64gb Playbook. I love the Blackberry phones. As long as Alltel has unlimited data I will stay with them.

I just do not know if my "fat" fingers can do the touch typing on the 9850!

I feel your pain, I am waiting as patiently as possible for alltel to do something because I'm not sure about the touchscreen. I did really like the suretype on my old pearl, and that might not be a bad option on the Torch.

I am up around Olney, and our county is not in anyones service area, so we can't port our numbers out, I have been running a business off this phone number for 10 years, and I cant stand to change it.

As aggravating as Alltel is, it would be $30 more a month to go Verizon.

I'm in Southern IL as well. I used to deal with the Harrisburg store, but they got rid of the 2 decent reps they had & replaced them with a couple of bimbos and some ...all of whom treat you great until you sign a contact, then they don't have time for you. I finally found a decent store in West City. They're all friendly
& the guy there (Matt) is very helpful. I, too, heard about the 9930, but I couldn't get an ETA from them.
I miss my BB & will ditch my Droid in a second for the 9930.

Well folks I upgraded to the 9850 a couple of months ago, since the 9930 was not coming to Alltel. Here is my take on it. I could not be happier with the 9850! It took a few days to get use to the touch screen typing. It is one heck of a phone! The display is beautiful! It has a large screen and shoots hi-def video and pictures! If you are like me and want to stick with Alltel and Blackberry phones it is the only way to go! I figured by the time my new contract was up in 2 years, Alltel would be offering the BB10 phones!
