Default Verizon finally making some sense

Went into my local store today to ask a few questions about my current options and found out that as long as one of your current lines is within 4 months of its end of contract you could port all phones on that plan over. It used to be just the main line not any other lines.

Sorry if this is a double post.

Hey, I've got a year left on my plan with Alltel, but have two other phones that run out at different times. Do you know if we all have to transfer to Verizon when we update, or could we do it at different times?

I was told that you can choose. You can just port over when each line is ready or all at once. However, you will then have two separate bills. Someone please correct me if i'm wrong.

I was told in the store that if you changed a phone due for an upgrade to a Verizon phone, then they would upgrade all of the phones on your plan. The CSR told me that they could not have Verizon phones and Alltel phones togther on the same phone plan. When my primary comes due in Feb, I can change all my phones at that time if I choose.

This is only in CERTAIN areas. Please be advised that this promo is not extended to every alltel store converting to Verizon and different stores are at different stages in the conversion process.

Yeah I have two lines one with data and one without. So I could port my one line without porting the other? This might make a storm an option.

Until the full billing conversion part is done, you'd have two bills if you port one line to verizon now and leave the other with alltel

But now I was told that since I have a family share plan I have to port both numbers. The stupid thing about it is that Verizxon is trying to charge me a $400 security deposit on each line if I port early. Or I wait a month and become a Verizon customer for free. I just hope it happens before the Buy one Blackberry, Get one free deal expires. For $149 and get TWO storms...now thats a good deal.

Hmm, at least the options are available. I may have to check it out once the Tour is out.
