Tour coming to Alltel question

With the crackberry announcement that the Tour is coming to alltel I'm wondering if non divested customers will have access to this device without having to move to a Verizon plan. That would absolutely rock

Not as I understand it, I think it will be available under alltel in the markets being bought by at&t and then the leftover markets being bought by xyz cellular or what have you.

I would say that it is EXTREMELY doubtful that you will be able to get Tour without getting a Verizon plan if you are non-divested.

I think if your area is still Alltel you may be able to (since not all the area's have merged with Verizon's systems so they're still selling Alltel equipment and contracts) but if you're converted then you haev to wait for Verizons w/ their plan.

Good thing I have a divested friend who can get me one.

You have to have a Verizon plan with a Verizon phone. The Toud is coming to Verizon. Its not branded as an alltel phone.

does Alltel have a firm release date for the Tour yet? I've heard August, but in light of Sprint moving up their release, I was hoping the same for Alltel.

I am a VZW customer as of today, but I still intend to buy the Alltel Tour when it comes out.
