AT&T news item of note for divested market folk

At least those of us going to ATT will be CDMA for the foreseeable future.

The often lousy voice quality and dropped calls from friends on iphones are bad. Reminds me of the early cellphone days..

CDMA can't do data while you are on a phone call. That is one of the main reasons why I prefer AT&T.

Very true - it's great being to discuss and work on a document simultaneously.

The bummer is when ATT's network is swamped and having to deal with clients and their regularly dropped calls and their wanting to know where work I emailed them an hour ago is.

The big ? for us Alltel customers going to ATT is the how and when of the transition, especially given they have no presence yet in many of the markets they're buying.

Interesting article. Thanks for posting the link. It certainly does make one aware of the growing need for these cell providers to upgrade their networks to keep up with the customer needs after selling them their data-gobbling smartphones, whatever the brand.
