yeah, I know what you mean, I have been with Alltel for 18 years and, I really wish this stupid merger had never happend, but oh well, I guess I need to make the best of it.

Verizon better not put a 5GB cap on my internet or all **** will break loose.

I agree, if Verizon tries anything stupid I'll switch to Sprint. I've been with Alltel for almost 8 years, and I'm not happy about this at all.

see the only problem I have with switching is that Sprint does not work at my house, but they would roam onto Alltel
AT&T gets a bar at my house, but it **** everywhere else and so is T-Mobile, so I might be screwed, there is no other carrier out here that works

I am a skeptic so don't be offended but what you are saying sounds a little like "we're from the government, we're here to help". I'm sure everything will be fine with vzw for now but once the switch is made and we are 6 months down the road I don't know that I trust them not to change things....time will tell.

No it's called running a successful business - not a failed political government.

That sound good but I've been caught up in the past of a couple major corporate buyouts, albeit a different industry still a couple big players merged. After the name change took effect things remained basically unchanged for several months, until people were used to some amount of change. Then the bigger changes came. People don't accept change well but once they are asimilated into vzw they will be more willing to accept the changes within vzw. At some point we will all be vzw and have to adjust to their rules, I just have a feeling it will be sooner rather than later.

No one wants the change... I think Alltel got a fair portion of customers who left VZN or some other carrier cause they were unsatisfied. Now it's like were back where we started. But VZN is saying it will be ok cause now were with a more expensive carrier who has 83 million ppl. On the bright side when your contract expires you really will be merged in to VZN and than only need 5 ppl in your circle and pay more for less minutes.. It's alright though cause there are 83 other million customers just as pissed.

Well in order to run a successful business you need to do damage to customers from what I've witnessed. But hey, as long as your making money....

I was talking to a guy who works for VZW. He says that alltel set out to be bought a while back. Supposedly, the ceo made my circle to attract more business. So they got a bigger share of market. Therefore making them more attractive to buyers.
VZW didn't rambo alltel off market. Alltel wanted to be bought. We were just lucky enough to part of the good life for a minute.

I guess we could be glad VZW picked us up. And not some fly by nite operation.

Ps VZW cs said so long as we don't change plan. Ie new contract. We could keep what we have indefinitely.
So one has to ask is $50 towards my new phone worth signing a two year contract. Might be easier to just to keep what I got or just buy the next big thing off ebay.

What happened to just being accountable for your usage and monitoring yourself?

Smile So Long Alltel

So Alltel is gone which, being on the sales end of things, is a very big bummer when it comes to price. VZW offers less minutes for more money. Try selling that to the decade customers and even the newbs. Long story short after using each phone VZW has to offer, seeing the ease of internet access to your account and speaking with multiple VZW CS reps I am more impressed with what VZW has to offer the general public and businesses alike than I EVER was with Alltel's solutions. In short I will pay more and get less minutes to have a better phone and all-around better cellular experience.
