Default sms's delayed text and XXXXXXX@message.alltel.com

I have had several instances of text messages being delayed by several hours only to show up all at one time 3-4 hours later. During this time my Blackberry continues to work normally, I receive e-mails, push services, phone calls, and have browser capability. Is this Alltels doing? It seems to only occur on Monday afternoons and happens to texts from sms and xxxxxxx@message.alltel.com. From numerous different sources. I don't know if Alltel shuts down the system for repair/service or why this happens. Whn they do show up, it is out of the blue, no battery pull, powering off or anything. As I get weather warnings, work messages and the like it concerns me that I cannot trust there arriving in a timely manner? any thoughts

I've had this happen before on my Alltel dumbphone as well. Are you out of an Alltel Home coverage area and roaming on other towers when you don't recieve them? I have had that happen to me before and as soon as I hit a home service area I get all the messages.

I know today they were having issues with the services. Have you tried dialing *228 option 2 to update your PRL?

talked to Alltel today, opened a trouble ticket. Would not tell if there was any network issues. My PRL is the newest 40051 prl. It seems network related since it is always in the 2-4 pm time range. The rest of the time its works great. He would not comment on the "error 3 sms id 246 network error" message I received.

Maybe he didn't know what it was?

I had issues with my web, where it wouldn't connect. And I went into the programming of the phone and programmed the NAM2 setting.

MDN is your phone number
IMSI_ID (or something like that) is your MIN number which is usually your phone number.

SID is the tower.

That info can be copied from the NAM1 information at the top of the screen.

to get into programming dial ##000000

press "send" twice.

After I did that, it worked perfectly! I don't know if that would help. I used to be a rep so I would always have people do that if their phone wasn't working right for some reason. It usually fixes most of the issues.

Or just change your active line from Line 2 to Line 1.

The Tech support person I spoke with on Wed. said he has spoken with Alltel's Blakberry support team. The team told him this is a known issue and they are workig on the concern at this time. yesterday I had no concerns with text messaging. It still seems that there is a delay in getting messages esp to the @message.alltel.com address. I hope this gets resolved I would like to know I can trust getting my messages in a timely manner

That is really weird because the only way I can talk to my boyfriend during the day is if he emails me at the message.alltel.com. It works for me without any issues. I'm in Ohio though, not sure if location has anything to do with it.
