sms notification for voicemail

Does anyone know if it possible for Alltel to disable the sms notification when u get a voicemail? I find this very annoying.

Check out this post. Even though it doesn't make sense to me, this has worked for me several times. Sometimes the phone will slip back to giving me SMS alerts for new VMs, so I just do this again and it works. (Even if your setting is already set to none, change it something else, save the setting, then change it back to none.)

On the same topic, I know when I get that SMS it has three labels saying you have a new voicemail, and one of the labels is urgent. Does that label have a purpose and if so, how can you get an urgent voicemail?

Actually it can be. Call in to tech and have them edit your voicemail box short message service function to off. When we manually setup voicemail boxes we have to make sure to setup the message service or else there will not be notifications. So yes. It can be done!
