Default Slow Yahoo mail delivery-

The past two days my Yahoo mail has been very slow to push to my Blackberry. I just received two emails that were sent to me last night, so it has almost been a 24-hour delay. Until now, things have been coming rather quickly (within minutes). So I am getting them, just very late!

Anyone else having issues? Any tricks I can try to resolve the issue?

It's not a memory problem, got plenty and I haven't made changes to any settings lately. Email going to my alltel.blackberry address is showing up within 10 minutes which is acceptable, but still in the recent past has been pretty much within a minute or so.

Thanks all!

Dave

Did you try a battery pull and resending your service books?

It's probably a Yahoo issue. Yahoo Mail can be buggy at times.

I have done a battery pull, but have not resent service books.

Wondering if it is just a yahoo bug

One thing I just thought of is I installed Weather Bug on Friday, but haven't noticed email delays until yesterday...you think there might something funky happening between the two?

Hmm...looks like it may be a Yahoo issue afterall.

I sent myself a test email at 3:30pm EST and it just came through at 4:13pm EST...still not great but better that 24-hours!

Yeah it has been frustrating for sure! Maybe things will clear up soon.

Thanks. Dave

I've noticed a delay in receiving some of my yahoo mail too.
It was even worse when I was using a Motorola Q to get my Yahoo mail.

Yahoo has bloked POP and IMAP services on all free email accounts. Blackberry is the only portable device (including outlook) that can still access yahoo directly (but getting slower every day)

On a Windows mobile, you will need to upgrade to their premium paid service (19.99/yr) or download yahoo go at Yahoo! Front Page

Hotmail has managed to block access from all devices (BB included) on their free email service. Some email addresses that are old enough and running on a particular msn server will still work without paying for their premium service (also 19.99/yr)

I had same problems: slooow access, even slower delivery.

Bit the bullet and d/l'd yahoo! go.

It's a compromise solution. The downside is it doesn't push email. But it does give much faster access if left running in the background. It will show if new mail has arrived when you switch into the app. And it will only fully d/l an email if you select it, so it's not a memory hog.

I've not been having any issues with Yahoo. Perhaps because I'm a Mail Plus subscriber?

That would be the correct reason
