A question about going from Alltel to Verizon?

Does anyone know if we will have to upgrade our software after the official July switch over to VZW?

What about our alltel.blackberry email addresses? Will we have to get a Verizon Blackberry email account instead and will we have to use a different site to login to our BIS account?

That's one of those things I've not heard anything about - I'm guessing when there's something to know, and if there's something we all need to do, we'll be informed of what needs to be done, and when.

My area switched on May 30.

Everything still works the same for me with my phone.

I log into the alltel.blackberry.com site. (Can't log into the VZW BIS site.) My alltel.blackberry.com email address still works the same.

The biggest visible difference is creating MyVerizon.com account to log in and view my account information instead of the Alltel.com site.

The ringbacks link on the MyVerizon.com links to the Alltel ringback site.

A positive change is that I was able to get an employer discount off my access charge (which I couldn't get with Alltel).

I'm still on an Alltel plan and am using an Alltel device.

Besides, they want you to eventually be off the alltel plan and onto a verizon plan which would eliminate this issue. Me, I'm gonna stay on my alltel plan as long as I can unless verizon offers a 7pm N&W start time.

Looks like conversion is done for me I just checked in and logged into My Verizon for the first time!

I'm eligible for a discount through work and can't find a place to make that happen. I am using my work email address for My Verizon. Any guidance? Thanks!

I was originally on an Alltel plan until yesterday when i upgraded to the Tour and I DID have to create a new BIS acct with WZW.....My alltel one is useless now.

How far were you into your Alltel contract? I have a year left in mine and wondered if they let you switch over to the Verizon plan with the 2 year price on the Tour. I'd jump over early for the Tour-
