purple 8130?

Today I dropped my phone in the sink, so I had to make a claim to have a new phone sent to me. I originally had a pink one, but they are out of stock on that one. She told me they had purple, so I thought ooo purple sounds cute. Then later when I was trying to find a picture, all I could find was the amethyst 8130...which is like a crappy looking black, not purple! So did this lady seriously tell me purple when it is amethyst, or is it going to be PURPLE? Does anybody know?

Amethyst is a violet variety of quartz often used in jewelry.
So my best guess is that amethyst is what they mean when they say purple.

Alltel's "amethyst" BlackBerry is actually a dark blue. Not even close to purple. I bought it because they told me it was black. I love the phone, but I won't be getting the same color when my upgrade comes back around.

Right, its more of a dark blueish grey - definitely not purple

Oh you poor thing. I couldn't get a cute pink, they were out of stock when I got my Pearl, so I ended up going with a red one. No surprises there.
