Default prorated ETF

Does Alltel offer a prorated ETF for someone wanting to make the jump to VZW before the slow paced conversion schedule?

They do in Iowa & Minnesota - because Alltel took over Midwest Wireless, and prorated ETFs was their policy.

I am thinking of switching to Sprint, I love Alltel, but Verizon's plans are high, I am going to get out of my contract, because technically I cannot change my plan to an Alltel one at any time, and this voids the contract

And, btw the conversion in my area will be complete on July 12th

If you think Alltel changing to Verzion will get you out of your contract without paying the ETF, good luck.

They will allow you to switch without penalty as long as you are eligible to renew your contract. So as long as you are in the final 4 months of your contract you are ok. More than 4 months and the ETF will apply if you make the change.

Most Alltel areas do not have pro rated early termination fees.

You will still be able to make plan changes at anytime just not have the older plans available.
I got out of AT&T with over a year and a half left and even got to keep my phones and everything, so if it does not void the contract, I will call the corportate headquarters directly and get to Executive Relations and have them take care of it.

but, I signed a contract with Alltel, to be able to switch to an Alltel plan at any time, not a Verizon one, I have looked over the agreement, and any change voids a signed contract, even if, lets say Alltel gave me free service for 2 years, that would void it, even though its a good thing. Also look at Sprint, when they added the 5GB cap to their aircards, they had to let everyone off that did not want that.

then again, Sprint does not have coverage in my area like I thought they did and AT&T is ok here, but sucks everywhere else, so I might just suck it up and stay with them

But you can still change your Alltel plan for the length of the contract to another Alltel plan, so nothing has changed.

I asked them in the store the other day, starting July 14th, if you change your plan, you will have to choose a Verizon plan, which might I add are more expensive than Alltels

So would that mean my contract would be broken if I can not change plans?

Over 15 million people are experiencing this change over. Do you HONESTLY think Verizon would allow millions of people cancel their contract just like that? They bought those customers. You will become a Verizon customer or you can pay the ETF.

Everything will stay the same as if you had Alltel service. When your contract is up carry on.

Alltel is not AT&T
ok, lets use a story with Alltel, about my aircard, I called because it kept locking onto Sprint, in an area where Sprint gets 2% signal, and they could not figure it out, so I called and the lady said that she could do one of two things, she could let me off without the ETF or she could send me a booster. I chose the booster, but I could have gotten off

and I assure you that if I want to get off, I will, its not that hard, but I have decided to stay with them, until something changes, and the first change that Verizon does that costs me more money, I will be switching

the main thing I am worried about now is the 5GB cap on my aircard, Alltel is unlimited and a 5GB cap would not be sufficent for me and I think its unfair, so I extended it as long as possible, I pray to God they do not change anything with it

Default June 2nd Letter

My question is did anyone receive the June 2nd letter from Alltel, stating that your Customer Agreement Terms and Conditions will be changing once you are merged over to Verizon? I read over the changes that would be in place for us Alltel customers once we are merged over to Verizon. I have tried on several occasions to be let out of my contract due to these changes. Any thoughts or ideas on how to make this happen?

Why do you want to switch?

The main reason is that I don't agree with the Privacy Policy changes and the Arbitration changes that will happen once I merge over to Verizon. Alltel keeps saying that those changes don't merit a Material Adverse Condition and will not let me out of my contract.
