OTA Programming Change

Anyone notice a change in the OTA Programming when dialing *228. It used to say "Thank you for calling Alltel, to update your phone's roaming capabilities press 2, to program your phone press 3"

As of this morning here in SW Florida, it is the Verizon OTA female voice, even though she doesn't say Verizon. Also, it is option 1 to program and option 2 to update the PRL and it is the Verizon music that plays while the phone is updating.

Still have an alltel PRL though.

Still the same Alltel OTA here in West Central Minnesota.

It's because you are bouncing between alltel and verizon towers as far as I know. As far as michigan goes they are sowly converting all of our towers to work with vzw service and vice versa without roaming or lease agreements. This is causing our OTA to not work sometimes, or it has been down. Ideally if you just follow the prompts or restart your phone it should work.

mine is different also, i posted the same question about a week ago in the "new alltel prl" thread. I didnt know it was the verizon music though.

This is what happens as the date for billing conversion approaches. Will happen later in other parts of the country as regions are converted.

I am in Little Rock, AR, same place as the Alltel HQ, and I get the same thing, I really wish this merger had never happened
