Default New programing

Not sure if everyone knows about this but.......

For the past month I have had horrible....I mean horrible service at my home. I have been dropping about 9 in 10 calls and since my Curve has my work # forwarded to it needless to say this is costing me $$. Called Alltel 1st week and they don't know what the problem is....tried blaming it on the foliage (it is spring in NC).....fast forward another week....Still same issues (of course the foliage is thicker) .....called this afternoon after yet another dropped sales call.....Viola....the rep asked me if I had done a *22896...at first I said I had done a *228...she said yes but *22896 is different....so with her on my land line I get the Curve and dial *22896 Attempt was nor successful...try again...attempt successfull....do a battery pull to set the programming and Holy Baby Jeebus....5 bars outside and 4 bars in my office.

According to the rep they have added some VZ towers now to my area.
After adding new progamming (4.5.131) this morning (thats worth another whole thread thanks to FireFox) I'm so freaking happy.

Not sure if it works for all areas but here in my little corner of the Western Piedmont of NC it's a new day.

Works here in Granite Falls, MN. Anyone know what the difference is between the *228 and *22896? from an end user perspective it appears that they both do the same thing.

From what the Alltel rep told me the *228 just updates roaming and has nothing to do with home area. This New *22896 updates home programming.

I noticed yesterday that the auto signature at the bottom of my emails now says.....
"Sent from my Blackberry by Verizon"
Guess that means I'm now able to use VZW towers.

Well it worked for me today, maybe I was on a sprint tower the other day. The prl didn't change, dunno about the "home programming". Same home Sid as before. I'm not sure what they meant by that.
