I had to go back to the older prl 40029 every since the Verizon Alltel merger there's no Verizon towers here in ottumwa and the phone would only roam onto the sprint tower that's in the same location as the only Alltel tower in the county witch in turn I wasn't getting very good coverage

I'm in SID 144 (Raleigh/Durham). EVDO worked fine when travelling to the Wilmington area. That's the only place I've gone out of my home SID. EVDO in my home SID is, of course, unaffected by the PRL.

Updated this morning to 40048 from 30033; immediately saw 1X go to 1XEV. Phone's home network is in MI, live in NY, updated while roaming in DC. Tried to update a couple times at home this morning as well and was told the update was interrupted instead of the usual "we are unable to update your phone via this wireless method" message. Can we now update Alltel PRLs on Verizon towers? Or did I get an Alltel tower in DC...

I upgraded my PRL a few weeks ago to 40047. I just checked my PRL and it had been changed to 30038. What is going on with this? I now have updated to 40048 and it was successful on first attemnpt.
