Default My Account on Alltel.com announces conversion date

Message on MyAccount... there you have it: the conversion date for the Midwest and West areas yet to be converted... The weekend of October 17th.

Quote:
08/19/2009 21:55:52 My Verizon My Account is moving! Click here for more, updated information regarding your transition to Verizon Wireless.

Description : As part of your transition to the Verizon Wireless family, we will be moving your "My Account" information on Alltel.com to "My Verizon" on VerizonWireless.com during the weekend of October 17, 2009.

In preparation for this change, My Account will be unavailable starting at 11PM on Friday, October 16. You will continue to have service (place and receive calls) during and after the transition.

Starting on October 19, 2009, you can go directly to My Verizon to manage your wireless account. You'll still be able to check your minutes, pay your bill, manage your My Circle® (called Friends & Family® within My Verizon) numbers, and much more. Watch My Verizon Demo to learn more.

After the transition is complete, we'll send you an email with details on how to log in with your primary wireless number and your Alltel password. Please check your PROFILE to ensure we have your current email address.

Don't worry if you come to Alltel.com to access your account information after this date - we'll provide you with a link to the My Verizon login page.

We look forward to continuing to serve your wireless needs. Thanks for using My Account!

Yep I saw that on my account earlier today. I have been waiting for that to get a Tour, however I am now considering the Samsung Omnia 2 as it should be out by then. I have a tough choice now.

I'm thinking about all kinds of upgrade options... Tour, Storm-II, or maybe hang on and see if VZW gets a version of iPhone

The iPhone would be cool, but I don't believe there is any chance of that until Verizon has LTE up and running. There are rumors of verizon getting an android based phone as well which would be cool as well. Lots of choices out there in the smart phone market.

So once we have to log in to My Verizon, can we upgrade to a VZW device, and if so at what cost?
