Migrating to VZW, which contract will be used?

I have three phones on my family plan with Alltel, with three different contract end dates.

Does anyone know how Verizon will migrate us?

1) Will we be forced into a VZW contract as soon as the earliest one expires?

2) Will it be based on the contract of the primary number?

3) Will it be based on the last contract to expire?

My primary number contract expires 10/10/09, with the other two expiring 3/10/10 and 5/25/10.

Should I consider extending the primary one when I can (6/12/09) in order to stay grandfathered in with my current plan longer? My son has been wanting to get a new phone.

The way it works is if you have 4 months or less on your alltel contract you can switch to Verizon with all fees waived, but if you have more than 4 months you would pay early termination fee on each line, but it depends where you live at because Verizon just sold some of there alltel assets to Att. It also depends if your in a divested market or non divested market.

I don't want to switch early. I know I will eventually become a VZW customer, but Alltel promised us we would remain on our Alltel plan until the contract expired. I want to keep this plan as long as possible before being moved into a higher priced VZW plan.

My question is which of the various contract expirations will VZW consider the point at which I must move from my grandfathered Alltel plan to a VZW plan?

To my understanding, you can stay on your plan until someone switches to a Verizon phone, at which point, you'd need to change your rate plan to a current Verizon plan.
