How do I activatie Verizon BB Curve 8830, when I have alltel plan. I will this work. I just bought this blackberry from my friend, you told me alltel plan to verizon phone would work. Just don't know you to go about it.

First I'd try *228 option 3 then if that don't work try online with the esn switcher and as a last resort call CS.

I think there was recently a thread very similar to this, and, it all depends on where you live. If I am to take your username as a clue to your location, and you're in South Carolina, then you can definitely activate your Verizon BlackBerry even with an Alltel plan.

If you're in an area that's converted to Verizon you can probably just activate it since as long as you have the BB plan on your account you'll most likely be in both systems (verizon.bb and alltel.bb)

If you're in a non-converted area, or a divested area, then you're going to have to use software like QPST to change the username/password to get EVDO to work. Plus you'll have to change it in the phone regular programming.

Most likely, if you check the thread about getting a Storm to work, you'll need to follow the same steps to reprogram it since you'll need the alltel.blackberry.com info, and the alltel data info.
