Email doesnt actually send

I've had no problems until the last month or so, but sometimes I will reply to an email and it will show the checkmark as if it is sent. However a few hours later when I am looking through my gmail sent items it shows nothing whatsoever. I can resend it on my blackberry and then it shows up fine but this is getting really frustrating. Why does it say its sent when it quite obviously has not?

Btw, I'm using a Blackberry 8830 on Alltel unlimited data plan using the BIS to send these messages. The occurence seems to be random and I'm thinking its an issue with Alltel's BIS as the blackberry seems to think it was sent fine.

Are you using gmail with imap? I set up one last week and gmail created another set of imap folders for sent/deleted.

No I just used the auto-setup, and its been working fine for about 2 years. Don't know if its an issue with the alltel-verizon merger or something.

Btw I noticed i didnt post this previously but I'm in NC.

Well have you tried re-sending your service books to your phone? The web address is alltel.blackberry.com. That usually helps me when I am having trouble with my e-mail.

Has anyone had the problem of wanting to reply to an email but all you get is a "save draft" message when you hit the scroller? Please advise me on what i need to change or what problem you think I might have.
