Default E-Mail from RIM

I received an email from RIM this morning to update my Alltel 8330. So I proceeded with the update. The software is version 4.5.0.160, which I know isn't exactly new (telus has it), but for an Alltel phone it is.

I was currently running .131, so we'll see how it goes. If anyone wants to check, the e-mail address is BlackBerry - Update your Device Software Just make sure to plug your phone in first.

Same here. I've been running the Telus .160 for a week or better. Did the upgrade through RIM but didn't see any changes as yet.

Talking Wow!!!!!

upgraded per email from RIM. Was running .138, had been waiting to see if some of the issues had been resolved. I had 42mb of free memory after battery pull with .138, now I have 52mb after battery pull with .160. Awesome! I had no issues with .138, will report back if any issues w/.160

Also, for the first time it asked me if i wanted to recieve an email about future upgrades in the app loader, it also had to update my app loader. I am using DM 4.5 and before you ask i dont have hardly any apps or themes on my device.

I'm running .127, with no prblms currently, but it is a PITA to change OSs. Safetytx, tell us if you think the new 160 is worth the hassle of changing OS. I do have several apps that most likely will have to be re-registered, dl'd, etc. What is the best thing you like about the new OS?

I got the email too, is it worth the hassle of changing OS? I have 127 now, and several apps.

I would say yes for the fact this OS will unlock your BBMaps for GPS and it seems a little zippier. I'm still playing around with it. Just run a back up, including your 3rd party apps to be safe. The whole process took about 40 minutes, including back ups, updating app loader and OS.

I went to the web site from my PC via the link in the email. I am running DM 4.6 w/o media manager. I was prompted to update the App Loader before I could download the new OS.
