Default Auto Udate to OS .138 w/ DM 4.6

I had some down time this morning and thought I would make the move from OS 4.5.0.127 to .160. I am using DM 4.6 and went to back up my Curve and was prompted that an update was available for my phone. Having made my back ups, I thought I would check it out. The DM upgraded me to .138 without having to delete a vendor file. I'll still update to .160 but for those who are intimidated by the deleting vendor file process, here is an easy way to unlock your GPS and put a newer OS on you Berry.

Are you sure it unlocks the gps? This may be a varient of the .138 that was already released and therefore still have the gps locked...I wouldn't put anything past cell providers these days. Its of no matter to me I'm running .160 but I'm just suspicious.

I heard alltel did it because verizon locks that function out at RIM. It was on one of these forums.

I can't tell what's up with DM 4.7 other than it has been noted that is it buggy when it comes to the 83xx Curve. 4.5 and 4.6 w/o media manager is recommended. I have been using 4.6, went to run a back up the other day and was prompted to update my OS. The end result was 4.5.0.138.

There is absolutely nothing about it on the Alltel.com software page or on the software update page for Alltel on BlackBerry.com.

Neat you have it. Maybe the rest of us will get it soon

Correct...not on Alltel site. This probably came from RIM and might be connected to the DM 4.6 and OS .127 combo I was running at the time I attempted back up.
