Default Anyone else not receiving MMS on their AllTel Curve

I have a friend that is not able to receive my MMS messages. I have tried all the possible camera settings and resolutions and even at the lowest resolution she does not receive them. I have Verizon and am able to receive her MMS messages just fine. My phone also shows the message went through properly. I also tried sending them to the (Mobile #)@message.alltel.com address and no luck either. Still shows they went through but she never receives them.

Thanks for the help.

Intermittent inter-carrier issues often times cannot be resolved with just troubleshooting; a lot of the time Alltel will need to submit a trouble ticket to get the issue resolved. And the fact that you are able to receive her MMS indicates she's receiving data. Its possible that its a memory issue, and its possible that its just an issue with the handset itself.
Either way I would probably have her call TS...

Is she able to receive from other Alltel customers?

R.O.C. - are you in Mankato?

It would still be the same even if she was converted as long as she has an Alltel handset. Still gets routed through the Alltel systems.

I've never been able to receive MMS on my Curve. I've upgraded the OS, downgraded the OS, had Customer Service reset the device on the system, installed apps, uninstalled apps, and umpteen other things and it's never worked for me.

I know that something is reaching the device because I use Aerize Email Alerts and I actually get a pop up for the messages (actually two pop ups) but I never get the messages.

I can send them now, though. And I've been converted to Verizon since the end of May, but it's still the same. I just tell people to email me, although sometimes they forget wand will ask later, "did you get the picture I sent?".

It's annoying but I'm over it.

Wow. Wat OS are you using. Because I haven't had that problem since I went to 4.5. You might actually need a new phone.

PS I had this issue, went thru 5 phones. Found out it was a problem with docs to go. You might want to delete. And see if you can get mms.

I'm on 4.5.0.160. It was the same with every OS version that's been on the device.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I've tried uninstalling it, wiping the device with JL_cmdr, and everything in between.

Weird, huh?

Have they put in a trouble ticket yet on this issue?

I discussed it via email several months ago with a tech who reset the device on the network. She indicated that if it didn't work, that I should call (of course via a different phone) and let them troubleshoot over the phone.

I, quite frankly, haven't felt like spending on hour or two on the phone with tech discussing it (and having them instruct me to do the same things I've already done), so I haven't called about it.

Thanks for the replies.... Believe it or not, she is the only one with Alltel in her family...the rest have Verizon along with her friends. Due to the area she is located she opted for Alltel at the time, but now Verizon coverage is actually the same or better. So we are not sure if she can receive MMS from other Alltel customers or not.

I am going to make sure her OS is up to date and make sure she has the proper updates. She has not ever connected it to the computer since she bought it two years ago..(now she tells me) Maybe a simple update will fix.

Thanks again.

If you call in and tell them what you've done and tell them it was recommended to you that a trouble ticket be issued, it shouldn't take more than 5-10 minutes to get one submitted for you....

Yeah I agree with R.O.C. - No rep wants to kill their calls per hour goal on MMS.

I've never heard of an MMS call lasting 1-2 hours. There are only a few systems you can go into for MMS. If you have data and can send/receive texts, then you just eliminated three suspects - the switch, AAA, and SMS system (SMSC). The only thing left is MMS provisioning. Other than a simple reset - you're off into trouble ticket land.

Ok problem solved in my case. She was running OS 4.3.x. Upgraded to 4.5.x or whatever it is and all is good. I even get the little "D" when its delivered now. Just wanted to post back and with the outcome.
