Default Alltel and T-Mobile - text messaging issues

Has anyone had any issued with repeated text messages going to T-Mobile and simply not being delivered? A friend and I use to text constantly but lately she has not been getting my text messages, or they came in intervals and not complete. I am able to send to Verizon and Sprint just fine, though. I called Alltel today and they checked all their switched, etc. and told me everything was in perfect working condition and that the problem must be on T-Mobile's end. I am assuming as much, too. Kinda' ticks me off, though. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

I'm on a 8330 btw, with the unlimited data/text plan. She and I usually text a few hundred times per day alone so this is kinda' irritating.

I have had cross-carrier issues before. I was T-Mobile with a SK and my bf is on ATT with a Treo. Sort of a pain.

What you can do is call in and have Alltel "troubleshoot" your phone. Have your friend do the same with T-Mobile and then try it again.

Sorry for semi necro-ing this thread, but my mother, sister and I have had the same problem (them being the Alltel customers sending the texts and me being the T-Mobile customer not receiving the texts).

Good to know it's not just us,

I have the same problem with t-mobile. SMS texts are sent fine, but we have a hard time getting picture messages to go thru. As far back as 1 1/2 years ago we have had that problem, when thay were Suncom.

My fiance and I used to have the same issue. I was on Alltel and she was on T-Mobile. Around the time that her bill came due it would either lag or not deliever at all. Then after the bill was paid...it was working fine. I'm sure it is on the T-Mobile side.

If you're an alltel customer sending SMS to another carrier and are having issues, please check the following:

1: Do you have a callback number attached to your messages? If so, remove it.
2: Do you have a signature attached to your messages? If so, remove it.

These two simple steps can solve SOME inter-carrier issues. (Not all, but it eliminates another problematic factor.)

This has long been resolved. Took about 2 weeks but the problem corrected itself. Not sure what was going on, however.

I have Alltel and a co-worker of mine has T-Mo, our texts never go through to each other...and when they do it'd be a solid ten minutes later and totally screwed up....not sure why, don't have this problem with anyone else.

Yes it seems kinda' off and on. Lately it has been lagging again. Sucks.

Have you tried Star's suggestion to remove both signatures and callback numbers?

Maybe Star can post instructions on removing the callback number and signature? In case (like me) you don't know how to do that.

I have had both disabled for quite some time. Like I said, it seems intermittent, and I'm unsure why. Alltel claims it's nothing on their end. I didn't bother contacting T-Mobile because I was with them before and absolutely NOTHING is their fault. I would say this occurs for a week or two out of two to three months of texting so it's not terrible. Usually I will just call the person when it starts getting shady.

That is still VERY weird that it would work, then stop. Maybe once the VZW / Alltel conversion is over, the problem will magically disappear??

Do you know if you are in a market that is being sold to ATT? Maybe that would also "fix" the issue when that transition is final.

When I spoke to tech support I go "Yes, I'm having some issues sending between one other carrier," and he said, "It's T-Mobile, isn't it?" It must not be that uncommon...
