§ Dial *22896 + SEND from your wireless phone.

§ Wait for a voice prompt to let you know the programming was successful.

§ Turn off your phone.

§ Turn on your phone.

I wouldn't do it ,until we learn more about it
I don't know if its limited to my BB or system wide

I had to do that on Aug 5th... I am in Southern MN and when I asked at the store they said it was just a tower update. We have a business account with 30 phones and they did not work unless the update was done...

This is a MIN update - simply put, it's reprogramming your phone so your phone and your account are compatible and ready to be imported into VZW's billing system soon.

Mobile Identification Number (MIN) - Uniquely identifies a mobile unit within a wireless carrier's network. The MIN often can be dialed from other wireless or wireline networks. The number differs from the electronic serial number (ESN), which is the unit number assigned by a phone manufacturer. MINs and ESNs can be checked electronically to help prevent fraud.

If you need to do something, you'll get a letter... and probably a robo-call to the account holder's primary contact # on the account... and txt messages... if you don't get any of those, then don't worry - be happy - it means your account is good to go for billing system merger.
