Alltel is now Verizon...

So I hoped on alltel.com today and found something interesting, it said Alltel is now part of Verizon, and I may choose to shop alltel phones of Verizon phones, anyone else have this happen to them. I didn't know if it was just the Lincoln,NE area or if all of the Alltel network can finally transfer to Verizon, and something else interesting is that my mom went to Alltel the other day looking to get a new phone, her space key no longer works, but whatever. The rep said she could switch all 4 people on my families plan to Verizon with all new phones for free, once again I'm not sure if this is Lincoln,NE area only, but I'm sure others would like to know this if it effects them as well.

of course not, it wasn't until recently that we've seen Alltel stores begin to shut down, and Alltel completely disband from areas

So are all Lincoln area Alltel stores now converted to Verizon stores? I live 40 minutes outside of Lincoln but get all my phones from there.

If I go to alltel.com I do not even see the word Verizon. No mention of phones or plans from them. Not sure what you guys are seeing, but I do not see where I have access to any of it yet.

I am in Little Rock, AR, where the Alltel HQ is, and they officially take over here on July 12th, any changes on our account, such as plan changes, must be done by then to stay on an Alltel plan, might I add that Verizon's plans are more that Alltel's, which pisses me off

When I go to the alltel site and type in my zip code it gives me the choice to click on Verizon or Alltel...So whoever said it been like that is incorrect...maybe in your area but not every where else.

It depends upon if your area has been transitioned over to Verizon yet or not. Some people will currently see no change to the Alltel site, others will be given a choice between Verizon or Alltel, and yet others will be directed to the Verizon site. Currently where I am we have not been transitioned so there is no change in the Alltel site for me.

You guys do know that not all of Alltel is going to Verizon right? On the Alltel site it spells out how 15 states are going to ATT.... which blows, being that my state is one that's included...
