Default Alltel Blackberry support

With the current situation of Alltel and the fact that some of us were not bought(officially) by anyone as of yet. Do you think that Alltel's options of new Blackberrys will go stagnant? I love my Curve, but am ready for a change. I know I can get the Tour, but do you see anything "new" coming this year?

no...you account and contract are taking over by verizon. there are no new alltel anythings coming out. pdas or basic phones. the chances youll be able to upgrade into an alltel device are minimal as well. and if you do and it has issues their going to replace with a verizon device. its bound to happen sooner or later sorry jager.

Thanks for the reply, but unfortunately Ohio was sold off by Verizon. I believe it's in the process of being purchased by Atlantic Bell or something like that. My concern is not whether it stays as Alltel or renamed something else, it now has became a "small(er)" company and we'll be overlooked by the newer devices. I know I have options and can leave, but I really like Alltel and the service they give me. Plus the fact that their smart plans are cheaper than Verizon.

I'm like you in I will stay Alltel. We will be part of the Atlantic telephone network. I believe the company name will be called Allied or something. I just renewed and got a Tour and a Pearl flip for free with a one year contract. That's hard to beat. Alltel has the best service in my area. Alltel will never have the newest phones like Verizon or AT&t because of thier buying power. My plan was about $40 a month cheeper than Verizon. AT&t won't work at my house.
