Default is 9650 coming to Alltel?

Anyone heard if Alltel will be getting the Tour2/Bold 9650?

Do you mean Verizon Wireless? As far as I know 'Alltel' will not be releasing anymore phones as they cease to be a company.

It's still possible seeing that both AT&T and ATNI are still waiting for FCC approval to finalize their purchases of the divested Alltel properties. Once they get approval and officially close the deals it will still be at least 6 months to a year before they are completely converted over.

My guess is it will come by the end of the year. Alltel is usually six months behind Verizon and Sprint.

The 9650 is being tested right now. If you can use past experience as a gauge it will likely show up in July sometime.

Wuhoo! I was hoping it'd be before my upgrade date. Now the question is, with ATT's purchase of VZW's Alltel assets complete, how soon will ATT make renewing Alltel customers change to one of their plans? I like this 1 year contract -- I feel a lot less like an indentured servant working off my bondage (well, not bondage, but a shiny new gadget).

yeah i am an alltel sales rep. and they told us they are supposed to get the new bold sometime in august or sept. I hope its soon. Also whenever verizon has a phone that is exclusive...alltel will be able to carry it 6 months after.

strikes me as a little weird they release an official os for a phone they've not even announced, let alone released. But any sign on the horizon for the 9650, or anything else for that matter, from Alltel is welcomed!
