Not much to my knowledge. I'm sure your wife would enjoy the curve more. I had an 8830 we from alltel but I was really upset when I got it like month before the curve came out!

I BELIEVE the curve has more available memory and more media options. I could also care less about the camera but the memory would be nice!

I had the 8830WE before the 8330 came out. I purchased the curve on the day it was released on Alltel and sold my 8830. I like the curve a lot better. The curve is a bit smaller and lighter, has more memory, a camera, and seems to get OS updates sooner.

The volume on my 8830 sucked. IMO, the curve is a much better phone. The only drawback is the 8830 is a world phone which means you can use a sim card if your traveling abroad. I don't travel so that was not an issue for me.

The curve is smaller and has more memory than the WE. Also, they keyboards are different...the curve has a space between keys and the WE does not. Curve has a camera and the WE does not.

I prefer the WE myself but I really the like the keyboard much better. I guess it would depend a lot on the issue of the camera and memory, imo

I don't like the looks of the we compared to the curve. Its just a bit smaller and looks like it would fit in your pocket better.

Had WE for a year before getting the curve. I much prefer form factor of curve over we: smaller, less clunky, fits better in pocket. However, i like the keyboard on the we better: my thumbs slipped less on the we. And that's probably the most important personal preference for choosing.

Two other differences I notice, and they're fairly minor. One, the we was a tad faster restarting after a soft reset or battery pull (the curve takes forever!), and launching or switching apps. The other is the we had slightly better reception in marginal areas. Neither of these detract from my decision to go with the curve.

One other small difference. The Curve has a standard 3.5 mm audio jack so it will take any regular headphones or audio line out. The WE has a 2.5 MM jack and needs a converter or adapter for most headphones. I have searched for an inexpensive converter for my WE without much luck.

Bubs - have you tried Seidio? I think I paid $8 or so for a 2.5 to 3.5 converter, which is not exactly inexpensive...
