Default 8830 memory leak - passed onto 8330?

Anyone have a Alltel 8330 yet? Do you see any of the same memory leak problems (wiping of txt's and email) that the 8830 has? Since Alltel has no fix for this memory problem and our users are growing frustrated we would like to start migrating our users to the 8330.

Thanks

I have seen no problems with memory leak on my 8330. I had a 8830 and noticed the problem within a couple of days. So far so good with the curve.

I have had no wiping of text but of course memory has drpped down to 48 MB with lot's of emails and such... after battery pull I go back up in the 50's, no biggie for me, plenty of memory to go around

Same here. I've taken some apps off the phone so after a battery pull I'm at around 52 free. After a few days I'm down to around 48 free, but I'm thinking that's just from normal usage. Again, with the amount of memory on this thing I don't think it's going to be an issue....

I understood one known memory leak was when you assigned Application Switcher to one of the convenience keys. After something like 25 uses, the memory leak is cumulatively big enough to start deleting email/text, etc. I've just gotten in the habit of returning to the home screen to find apps to avoid the problem.

When I got my 8330, I was told by the salesman that every night I should press and hold the alt key while typing lglg. This brings up a log of stuff from the day. He said to delete this log and it would help with memory/speed. I have been doing this and so far I havn't had any problems

Amazing what little bits of information you find when you start looking. I have had this issue with the memory. Will give the Alt - lglg a try. Thanks Annmac

The log you clear with Alt LGLG isn't that big. It won't hurt to clear it, but it won't do nearly as much good as performing the CrackBerry Memory Optimization Procedure that is linked in my sig. It was created for users with 8nnn series devices.
