Just checked the mail and my battery and cover showed up today.
The S1 with the extended battery felt much bulkier then the s2 with the extended battery. Yes it is bigger than the stock battery and will not fit in the factory cradle/dock, but it feels great in your hands, makes it easier to type, and after a day or so I should really be loving that extra battery life.
In short they did a much better job on the cover for this one then on the s1

So I grabbed my gfs s1 and put the battery cover on it and took some pictures of it side by side with mine.
From the looks of it the covers are actually about the same size. I think that it feels smaller because the storm 2 its self is slightly skinnier then the storm 1.
If you arn't sure which is which the storm 1 has the chrome buttons on the side.
Might not be the best pics, but I'm far from a photographer lol

I think your right about the phone size making it feel smaller - In any case I'm lovin the fact that I no longer have to watch what I do with the phone on a daily basis to keep some life in it at the end of the day.
off charger at 6am and at 10pm I'm at about 60% with gps, wifi, bluetooth on and screen brightness at 100% - the extra bulk is worth it to me - and it really does seem to fit better in the hand without any noticeable extra weight

Damn that is one chunky mobile phone with that battery cover on it.
I have been looking to get one but I use a otterbox commuter case.
I just wonder if you could just use the battery and use the otterbox case as the battery cover
Looking at the pictures on this post, it could be possible.
If any of you guys out there could trial this, It would be greatly appreciated.
I hope this makes sense.

I have the 2600 battery on my Tour, but its no where near as big and fat as they made it for the Storm. On the Tour you can barely even tell its on it. Wonder why Seidio decided to go to big and fat with the storm?

Just so you guys know what I'm talking about, the link to the product is here.
First of all, know that it adds bulk to the phone; enough bulk so your shell case or holster will probably reject your Storm2. I was very worried about this, because I use the VZW Rubberized Swivel Holster w/ Rear Cover Shell included. If any of you guys carry this, you know it snaps on the back holding the entire phone.
The main reason why I purchased the battery was (obviously) my stock D-X1 putters out at about 3PM every day, after a full charge ending at 8AM when I head to work. I do not consider myself a heavy talker (I average 2000 minutes a month) and only send/receive about 10 e-mail's a day. However, I message a large amount, including SMS, BBM, and Google Talk. I just couldn't handle my beloved Storm2 not lasting an entire day, and VZW has even swapped me out with a brand-new, unopened device. I experienced the same poor battery performance. I did everything that I knew how and read about to maximize my battery life, including setting the screen brightness to 10 (this is still more than adequate for me), setting my radio to 1XEV only, manually managing my WiFi to be off when I was not at home or work, and always making sure my unused programs were closed. I purchased MeterBerry to help me isolate the cause of the battery drain and unfortunately, it didn't help at all. But it was neat to have proof that my battery was being sucked dry at a rapid rate! I would average between 8% and 15% drain per hour.
My only previous solution was to surround myself with chargers. I carried two USB to Micro USB cables with me, and have 2 wall chargers at home (one by my computer and one in my bedroom), and one wall charger at work, and finally a car charger. This helped alleviate my problem, but I was constantly worried I would be out working at a client's business (I am an IT contractor) and not be able to charge my phone. I wouldn't allow myself to be embarrassed by a dead battery in my only communications device (a cornerstone to my business).
So as my previous solution had issues, I decided to pull the gun on the purchase of the Innocell 2600mAh. It cost about $85 total including shipping and tax.
I will reserve the actual review in a few days, but I wanted to start the thread now and talk about size/holster.
I have attached some pictures which hopefully will help everyone in seeing the actual size difference. However, the last 2 pictures show the phone in the VZW holster. Obviously the outer shell is gone, but I was very happy to see that the added battery bulk actually allowed the phone to happily sit in the belt clip holster. It was a snug fit and I see no possibility for the phone to lurch itself free, even with strong sudden movement. The only unfortunate downsize is that since the phone is now back to smooth chrome for edges, it is difficult to grab the phone to eject it from the holster. I will add my review of this unexpected holster ability when I post my actual review of the battery in this same thread.
If anyone has their own thoughts or feedback to the same battery, please let me know as I am interested in your experiences as well. Just another link to the Seidio product page.
Have a great day and remember: Love your BlackBerry! | in my opinion blackberry should have made a extented battery when the s1 and s2 came out. ppl are having so much isues with batteries. i am as well. i think the phones should come with them lol......

Do you think the battery affects the typing (or the feel of typing) on the storm 2?

The storm 2 door design is totally different from storm 1 door design. It is a much imporved type. The problem has been corrected.
