Default Seidio 8900 / 8350 Desktop Charging Cradle - Review

Hey Guys,

Here is a video review of the Seidio Charger for use with the Innocase II

YouTube - Seidio 8900 / 8350 Desktop Charging Cradle - Review and First Look

I like this charger and have been using it for a few days. It has both types of the USB adapters on the back and you can use the mini USB to charge the phone as well. I am sure it would take longer....but it works.

Ask me any questions....

Hey Cilantro, what do you mean that the mini USB connection would take longer to charge??

I would assumed it would.... don't most Mini USB run at 550 mA as opposed to the 700 mA that the micro USB runs at? or is that dependent on the various chargers?

I believe that just depends on the power source. I don't think there is a limitation on the connector itself.

I think the Seidio cradle is great too; so much so I bought two .

But as much as I'm a *big* Seidio fan, I really didn't like the 72 point "Seidio" printed on the front.. a little Goo Gone and a little rub, and it came off without a trace, and didn't leave a mark on that fine rubber finish!

Exactly. Which is why it's a "charging" cradle and not "charge and sync"..

For the life of me I can't figure out why RIM put charge contacts on the bottom for a cradle, and didn't just put the micro-USB connector on the bottom. They'd have saved the extra connector, and we'd be able to charge *and* sync..

Any advantage to this charger over the standard BB OEM cradle that is $10 everywhere?

Yes it will work with the Seidio cases. With a $10 OEM charging cradle you would have to remove the case to charge the phone.
