Seidio 2600mAh Extended Battery for BlackBerry Curve 8330

As promised, here is my review of the Seidio 2600mAh Extended Battery for BlackBerry Curve - ShopCrackBerry !
Hello Crackberry nation! I love my Curve 8330 for Sprint, but for the first week or so I had it, it was unusable after sitting in my workplace all day. I typically work a 9/1/2 hour day in a factory that makes my phone CONSTANTLY search for signal. After a workday where my phone was NEVER used, my battery was typically at 15% when I left work, and any overtime was a guaranteed dead phone when I left. This gave me two choices. 1. Keep it plugged in all day while I was at work. 2. Buy an extended battery and pray it made my phone usable. I chose option 2. and I couldn't be happier with my choice.
Unboxing: Not much to say really. Upon opening the box you simply see a larger battery and a thin plastic door inside of a clear envelope.
Installation: Extremely easy one here. Pop off the battery door, pull out the battery, pop in the new battery, and slip on the battery door.
First impressions: I immediately like the way the small lump on the back of the phone makes it a more comfortable fit in my hand. The larger battery adds a bit of weight, but now I don't feel as though I could crush the phone if I grip it a bit too tightly.
Final verdict:Simply put, I LOVE THIS BATTERY! Before I got this battery, my phone would drain itself to the point of a dead battery WITHOUT EVEN USING IT while I worked a standard 9/1/2 hour day. With this battery, I can work a 10/1/2 hour day while using messenger all day, listening to music for 4 hours, using the browser for an hour, and playing a few games on breaks, AND STILL have 50% battery life when I leave, which is more power than the standard battery has when fully charged! This battery made me not only like my phone on weekends, but LOVE my phone every day.
Pros: Extremely long battery life, louder ring tones and music due to cutouts in door, better grip from rubberized door, slightly meatier feeling phone.
Cons: Some may not like the lump on the back of their phone, or the added weight, but I think the cost is outweighed by the benefits and I like a phone with some girth.

Some have said that they actually prefer the feel of the bulge of the extended back in their hand.

I've had it for 3 days now and have not plugged my phone in after the initial 8-hour charge. Battery is currently at 58% with normal browsing, texting, calls, and about a half hour of GPS usage. This is an amazing product, and well worth the price. The book says the battery gets better after 4 or 5 cycles, but I'm very impressed right out of the box.

Hi

This is for GmrPnm21 - You mention you also reviewed the case & holster that fit that larger bat...I found the rubberized case, if that's the one you meant, but wasn't able to find the holster. Could you please point me to the products and your reviews of them?
I'm a noob, so I couldn't PM you, hope you see this older thread...
Thanks! - 03-24-2009, 01:28 AM #7
I got this battery for my 8320 and do I ever love it. I am getting as much as 2 weeks....yes WEEKS of basic voice and SMS usage from my phone where as with the stock battery, I got at most a day and half.
I too also found that with the new battery and cover, it fit into my hand better and even my better half and her girlfriend also said they found the phone felt better, more solid than the stock back did...and that is smaller female hands we are talking about too.
If you have a Curve 83** I highly recommend this battery!! Get it...you will NOT regret it. - 03-25-2009, 01:44 PM #9
Every phone I always got extended Batterys for
Except the Curve. I initially had the same draining problem until i upgraded the software and pulled the battery and my batter seems to be fine. If not then I will look at this as an alternative.
