Received My 9930 OEM Cases-Overview
I knew as soon as my 9930 arrived that a case was a must. I could not decide between the BlackBerry branded OEM hard case or soft case so I just bought both.
Hard Case: Fits phone well, shiny black hard plastic back with a textured flat surface over the battery door, complete with the corporate logo. Side completely surrounds the phone with high grade black rubber complete with molded pushbuttons. Buttons work well on this case but the back has a thin plasticky feel to it that slightly detracts from the quality feel of the phone; otherwise, a good effort on RIM's part and one would be hard pressed to tell it had a case on it.
Soft Case: Also fits well. I ordered in bottle green as it was all that was available at the moment. Don't let the colors displayed on BlackBerry's website fool you; the green is actually very attractive in person and it picks up the stainless steel band on the phone underneath very nicely. It is made of some kind of heavy, clear vinyl and molds to the phone firmly, giving it much better grip and enhancing the cool factor. BlackBerry logo molded into the back of the case, buttons molded into the side of the case. The buttons don't work quite as well on this case as the hard case because of the material it is made from but they work and I see them getting better with use. I give a definite thumbs up to the soft case. My 9930 feel much safer now. |
