Default Is the Innocase for the Storm really "all that"?

There are sooo many threads regarding cases. My interpretations is that it's almost a consensus that the innocase is the favorite case to get for the Storm. How would you rank Storm cases based on your experience/s?
Well since I currently have a corporate discount@Verizon, don't have a problem returning things, and have also found great deals on Amazon & Ebay, here are my experiences with the cases I have or had:

1. Rim leather side pouch - looks nice but to me, it kinda sticks too far out from the belt. It doesn't clip very close to the body so it's really out there and obvious that you're wearing it. I almost feel like I'm gonna nick something when I'm walking by. But the space is great if you have extra side handles spilling over your belt! And it's easier to access your storm with the case that sticks far out like that. The only issue is that I think the cae was initially too tight and my talk button has gotten loose because of that.

2. The pouch from Verizon, the one with no top cover. It was a little too tight and I initially had to squeeze it wide open to prevent it from knicking the keys or the screen protector. I didn't do that at first and the edge of the opening on the pouch knicked my screen protector enough to loosen it and allow a bubble to form. After I fixed that I loved it. It's tighness seemed to squeeze bubbles out of the top of a new screen protector I applied. The only other thing is that it adds bulk to my pocket and doesn't necessarily prevent dust from getting to my Storm. I'm not sure at what point dust has gotten under my screen but I think it no longer gets in there as my last two cases seem to squeeze the life out of my storm. And with my luck, I dropped my Storm while in this case and it landed on the un-protected part. I still like this pouch.

3. The regular holster Verizon sells-had it for a week and brought it back. I just wasn't "feeln" it so to speak. Maybe I didnt give enough time to get used to it.

4. The black silicone case I liked and it was cool to have a Storm that is all black. But I missed the look of the chrome edges of the storm. And like many others, it was just too rubbery for my pocket and it attracted lint and dust.

5. So I also tried putting my storm in mini-cloth bags Silcone or no silicone, I would put it in a small cloth bag that came with my GPS or in a black jewelry back. It was kind of a neat idea at the time. But I think the jewelry bags attracted dust. They slided in-and out of my pocket easier and it was cool at the time but I could feel my screen wobble too much in my pocket.

Well, there's my long list and descriptions of my case experiences. Oh yeah, I've also carried my Storm in my HP compack horizonal leather case. It was okay, but I could almost fit two silicone covered storms in there!! Well, sorry for the long post but thank you for reading as I'm releasing stress from a long work & school day by wriiting on this wonderful forum. What's your experience with Storm cases? Is the Innocase really "all that"? Or are you happier with something else. Anyway, have a great day!

Unhappy 2 Innocases in 2 months - Tabs failing

The tabs are tiny pieces of plastic. These cases are fine for an I-phone where there is no need to remove the case. But for a BB - where you may do a Bat pull every few days or even every day; let alone a Storm where you need to remove the Innocase to use the pod at night; these cases fall way short. The tabs can't handle the wear of being opened and closed. One of the tabs is bound to fail after as little as being opened 30 times. G-d help you if you install beta OSes. And apparently - Seido no longer cross ships.

So to review - for $30.00 you get a case that will last a few weeks to a few months max, and when it fails, and it will you need to wait for Seido to ship you a box by regular mail, so you can then ship the case back to Seido, so they can then re-send you a working case - - wait a few weeks and repeat, unless they determine that despite only having a working case for 3 weeks, due to manufacturer's defect and shipping times, you are out of warranty. Too bad.

Sorry Seido - great concept - poor execution. Maybe try using an American Factory with American workers that actually care about the quality of the product.

I had a silicon skin case and it wasn't a good fit for the phone. It is flimsy and doesn't slide in and out of your pocket at all with any type of ease. I purchased the Innocase II and it is the best case I have seen by far. It fits like a glove, Is very easy to remove if you have to perform a battery pull. It snaps together and is very sleek. It slides in and out of your pocket with no problems or snags. All of the buttons are accessible and not covered up. IMO it is the best case by far. I also have quick pull on my storm and I use that if I need to perform a soft reset. I probably have taken my Seido Innocase off maybe twice since I have had it from my phone freezing or something but I have had the case since it was released so that would probably be over a month by now. I would recommend this case to anyone who wants something that is not bulky, looks very clean on the device, is very versatile, will protect your storm from scratches, damage, or drops, etc....Hope that helps with any review information. Good luck.

1magine,

I'm sorry you're unhappy with your case, but I can assure you that we have a very good reputation for building a quality product.

The case is designed to snap together, and while the clips will come apart, it wasn't designed to be removed all the time. We had no idea that the Storm was going to be such a disaster in regards to crashing and would actually require so many battery pulls. This is a huge flaw in the design of the Storm, and something we're hoping RIM is working on fixing.

While we can't do anything about the Storm's bugs, we do also make an Innocase II. This case is designed differently and does not clip together. This may be a better option for you if you're having these issues.

In regards to docking, we will soon be launching a cradle which will allow docking without removing our case.

Best regards,

I love mine for my 8900. When I had my Storm I also had an innocase II. Loved it very rugged and gives the phone some bulk which I like although that's a personal preference.
